Back 2 Business For Flood Victims
35 families were supported under the first phase of Back to Business Emergency Flood Recovery Project, the initial distribution was taken place on 9th of September 2016. This programme was implemented by Muslim Aid Sri Lanka, with the funding support of Sri Lanka Muslim Cultural Centre (SLMCC) – East London, Inter Build Aid (IBA) UK, and coordination of All Ceylon Jamiyyathul Ulama (ACJU)
With the detailed data collection, need assessment and analysis by Muslim Aid Sri Lanka in Megoda Kolonnawa, Wennawatta & Kohilawatta areas the shortlisted families have received different type of livelihood supports such as welding, food processing & cooing, tailoring, textiles, vending cart, groceries etc. were provide to those affected families to start their income generation activities under this B2B programme .
The people from Kolonnawa Divisional secretariat area had to face many hardship due to the recent flooding. Although many institutions from Government and Non-Governmental sector have helped affected during to rescue and recovery period. However as number of affected families are huge and there are number of families needed support to start their livelihood initiatives.
